Three things that anyone should do to settle their insurance claim are to
- Give information regarding liability. In other words, you must show (in a typical negligence
claim) that the accident is not your fault - Establish damages. Damages are things that either cost you money or harmed you, such as pain
and suffering. You need to document what treatments you received: if you went to the
emergency room, if you had follow-up treatments with a doctor, if you’re going to need a
surgery down the road, if you have something that’s going to be a lasting problem for you
medically - Verify insurance coverage. You must make sure there’s insurance coverage that will pay for your
claim upon settlement
