If you’re a student at Coastal Carolina University (CCU) and you’re arrested, one of a few things is going to happen to you. The first thing that will happen is that you’ll have to face some kind of university discipline procedure. In addition to that, if you live in the dorms – which is a factor for many freshmen, because freshmen are required to live in the dorms – you can very well be expelled from the dorm.
What we see are a variety of different actions, but the school will take some action, and you will be notified, probably by the Dean of Students, and there’ll be a procedure that you go through. We’ve had situations where people were able to remain in school. We’ve seen people who were able to remain in the dorm – but there were things they had to do to be in compliance. In addition, we’ve had people ultimately expelled from school or expelled from the dorms, so that’s something that you need to be aware of. You can contact us, and we can explain those procedures to you.
Those are in addition to the things that you need to deal with involving the actual arrest and going to court and those things.
